Reverend Tanimoto born in Hiroshima in 1909 acted tremendously for Peace in his life.
After the Hiroshima bombing, his actions were depicted into the best-seller novel “Hiroshima” written by John Hersey.
This tragic experience had Reverend Tanimoto feel the necessity to act for Peace in the world.
Reverend Tanimoto went to the US to promote peace and collect money for the wounded in Hiroshima.
He Never stopped fighting for peace until his death in 1987.
His daughter Koko, who was eight months old when the bomb hit Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, also has been spending her life promoting peace around the world through speeches.
And now Reverend Tanimoto’s family would like to perpetuate Mr. Tanimoto’s intellectual heritage through this foundation: “the Tanimoto’s Peace Centre”.
